This version of the Knocknagree Reel was learned from the playing of the mighty Tommy Peoples. We learned it from an old household recording of Tommy where he plays this setting of the tune alongside the standard. Cathal McConnell, for whom Tommy made the tape, recalls that Tommy’s version of the tune was recorded some time in the 1970s.
‘Healy’s House’ is a tune composed by Richie Dwyer of the famed Dwyer clan from the Beara Peninsula, Co. Cork. It was recorded on Richie’s ‘In a Creative Mood’ album in 2004.
Dónal composed the reel ‘Peadar Charlie’s Fix’ and named it after a fictional plumber who produced his best work upon getting his fix of a cigarette and a cup of coffee.

Absolutely sensational - love the generally low-end tones and planxty-esque set up, but most of all the incredible energy of it! Wish more instrumental trad was like this, love the fact that it's recorded live too. Prangman
