The first reel in this set was composed in 2014 when Tommy was living on the Cashel Road outside Clonmel, Co. Tipperary where he played a lot of music with the inimitable fiddle player, Jack Ryan, and the O’Connell family.
‘All About Weaving' is a composition of Charlie Lennon’s. We learned this setting from the playing of Frankie Gavin who recorded it on his 1989 album, 'Frankie Goes to Town’.
'The Prince's Feather' is a composition of the wonderful fiddler and composer, Maurice Lennon, and was recorded on the album 'The Crooked Rose' by Stockton's Wing. The tune was originally composed in the key of E major but we play it here in the more flute / fiddle-friendly key of D. This set demonstrates, to some degree, the evolution of the tradition through the magical compositions of the Lennon's, Charlie and Maurice, in the traditional style.

Absolutely sensational - love the generally low-end tones and planxty-esque set up, but most of all the incredible energy of it! Wish more instrumental trad was like this, love the fact that it's recorded live too. Prangman
