‘The Chapel Bell’ is a Frank McCollum composition which has been recorded by numerous artists to date. It was from a Dermot Byrne recording that reminded us of this jig.
Tommy learned the old and seldom heard tune, 'A Visit to Ireland' in a flute masterclass with Frankie Gavin in 2009. The masterclass took place at the University of Limerick where Tommy was doing his MA in Irish Traditional Music Performance. Frankie's flute playing has influenced Tommy greatly over the years and he cites that particular morning spent with Frankie as one of the most inspirational and unforgettable moments of his musical journey to date.

Absolutely sensational - love the generally low-end tones and planxty-esque set up, but most of all the incredible energy of it! Wish more instrumental trad was like this, love the fact that it's recorded live too. Prangman
