Although ‘Paddy in London’ is a well-known jig , it has many different versions. We particularly like the simplicity of this version and felt it complimented the following tunes well. The second jig in this set is associated with Galway accordion player and uilleann piper, Jackie Small.
‘The Reaper’ was written by Connie O’Connell and was published as part of a collection of his compositions on the University College of Cork (UCC) website in conjunction with the Arts Council of Ireland. A ‘reaper’ was someone who used the scythe for cutting hay and corn and many reapers have since been replaced by machinery. Connie’s compositions are widespread within the Irish music tradition.

Absolutely sensational - love the generally low-end tones and planxty-esque set up, but most of all the incredible energy of it! Wish more instrumental trad was like this, love the fact that it's recorded live too. Prangman
